A little more Easter

I forgot I had a few pictures on my phone from Easter so here they are!

It was Keiko's birthday as well so Gloria made a birthday bunny cake!

That day was also Auntie Lori and Uncle Steve's anniversary so congrats to them too! Wish we could have celebrated with you in Colorado. We love you!

Easter 2010

It was pouring down rain Easter Sunday, so we had to stick to indoor egg hunts! The Easter Bunny left a basket of goodies for Carina at our house, and she quickly found the eggs he hid in our living room. She is pretty skilled at finding them now, so we will have to make it a bit more challenging next year for sure! Of course I guess it is pretty to find eggs when you don't have any competition. Mike showed a lot of restraint!
The Easter Bunny brought her the Sleeping Beauty DVD, a Princess and the Frog book, Little Mermaid socks, and some Mickey Mouse fruit snacks. Can you tell we are indoctrinating her with all things Disney? I have managed to keep the princess paraphernalia to a minimum up until now, but I think that will end after our trip to see the mouse in June!

Later that afternoon we headed up to Grandma and Grandpa's house for another egg hunt and Easter dinner. The Easter bunny had been there too, and Carina was thrilled to have so many treats! Being the truly awesome parents we are, we failed to take any pictures. I think the weather threw us off our game. What really bums me out about it though is that now I cannot share pictures of Carina in her super cute dress. Since it was so cold she wore it with leggings and a sweater...doesn't really say "springtime"! Hopefully the weather will be sunnier next year!

So.Cal Road Trip: April 2010

The day after Easter, Carina, Auntie Keiko and I drove down to So Cal to visit with family and friends. Mike was supposed to go with us, but he had a last minute change of plans. The week before, he found out he had to go to Hawaii...with the womens tennis team....yeah, I know. I've been giving him a little bit of a bad time about it, but he truly did need to go. The team had a match there and wouldn't have been eligible to play unless they had university official present. Due to a variety of other circumstances, neither their coach or athletic director could go, so Mike was asked to take the team. He had a great time and the players won all their matches! I'm hoping I can find some kind of teacher's conference in the Bahamas...

Anyway, Carina was SUCH a trooper for the long drive down. She slept for a few hours, then watched a couple movies. The DVD player that mounts on the back of the headrest was an excellent purchase. She also obeyed the number one rule in the car: "No barfing, no whining!"

When we finally got to my parents house, Carina got to partake in yet another egg hunt! That Easter Bunny certainly made his way to all the appropriate houses.
